The main responsibilities of KST
1. Management of specialized registrers:
- National Register of Patients Waiting for an Organ Transplantation
- National Register of Organ/Tissue Donors
- National Register of Organ/Tissue Transplantations
2. Coordination of procurement and transplantations:
- Coordination of procurement and transplantation teams of individual transplantation centers
- Choosing the most suitable recipients for removed organs from the National Register of Patients Waiting for an Organ Transplantation
- Methodical coordination of the Center for Identification of Donors of Hematopoietic Cells
- Proposing individual clinics to be incorporated into the system of coordination of transplantations in the Czech Republic
3. Information activity:
- Gathering, evaluation and processing of data on performed procurements and transplantations as well as on their results
- Preparing annual overall reports for the Czech Ministry of Health on performed procurements and transplantations and on their results in the Czech Republic
- Monitoring professional developments and trends in the field of transplantations, and evaluation of their possible utilization in the work of transplantation centers
- Engagement in the system of training and education of medical personnel
4. International cooperation:
- Arrangement and coordination of international cooperation in exchange of tissues and organs intended for transplantations
- Monitoring and evaluation of organization and practice of transplantations in abroad in order to improve effectivity of our own system
- Engagement in international transplantation projects
5. Miscellaneous:
- Execution of other tasks directed by the Ministry of Health
- Submitting proposals and suggestions to imnprove the existing transplantation program
